A royal author has offered a fresh perspective on Queen Camilla’s true feelings toward the Princess of Wales. The dynamic between the two royal women has long been a topic of discussion among royal watchers.
Yet few have been able to provide a definitive account of how the pair interact behind closed doors.
Various exchanges between the two have been analyzed by lip readers, but now a royal author has taken a deeper look at the relationship between the two women and how the Queen truly regards her stepdaughter-in-law.
Writer Christopher Anderson, whose new book is Kate! The Courage, Grace, and Power of the Woman Who Will Be Queen was released this month, according to the Daily Express, which said the close bond between the King and the Princess has been a driving factor in shaping Camilla’s view of the royal.
He said: “Camilla has been jealous of [Catherine]. But that has changed dramatically since Charles’s cancer diagnosis, which, amazingly, happened at virtually the same moment that [Catherine] received a word that she too was suffering from cancer.
“The King and the Princess of Wales have bonded over their shared cancer journey.”
“There is genuine affection between them, and they’re not afraid to show it publicly. There’s a lot of hugging, kissing on the cheek, and most importantly, laughter.”
The author added: “Camilla is just so grateful that [Catherine] has the power to cheer up the King.”
During the ceremonial reception for the Nigerian President’s state visit to the UK earlier this year, the princess was spotted paying a brief three-word compliment to the Queen.
Professional lip reader Nicola Hickling analyzed the exchange and decoded what the princess whispered to the Queen.
Speaking on behalf of Betfair Casino, Ms. Hickling revealed to the Daily Express that Catherine said: “Good morning, how are you?”
She then turned to Camilla with a heartfelt, three-word message: “You look beautiful!”
