‘Rain’ magazine supporters to host open mic literary event Jan. 28

Students working on the 2026 edition of “Rain” magazine at Clatsop Community College are hosting two open mic literary events.
The first of two planned sessions is 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Jan. 28 at WineKraft, 77 11th St., in Astoria.
The event is open to the public. Student editors from the Rain magazine class, who will act as emcees, welcome writers of all experience levels to share original prose. A sign-up sheet will be available for those who wish to read.
Leaders say this year’s publication will feature collaborations with the arts community to reflect the full scope of the magazine and invite wider participation.
Another WineKraft open mic session is planned Feb. 12, with details to be announced.
