A new gathering space has been reimagined as the Bank of America Imagination Courtyard at Victoria Gardens Cultural Center opened on Thursday, April 16.
Residents and attendees for the opening were treated to a performance from Ventura Highway – The Ultimate America Tribute.
The event was Route 66-themed, as the city pays homage to the mother road’s 100th birthday this November with “All Roads Lead to RC,” a central theme idea carried over from the state of the city event, also on April 16.
That event highlighted the city’s focus on infrastructure, connectivity and development.
The new courtyard has been designed to serve as a cultural gathering space and to enhance its ability to host outdoor performances right outside the Lewis Family Playhouse and the Paul A. Biane Library.
Some of the Improvements include a permanent stage, new shade structures, a state-of-the-art sound and lighting system, updated landscaping and expanded seating areas.

The courtyard is located at 12505 Cultural Center Drive.
