Film memorabilia collectors, unite!
Another flashy lineup of film and television props, costumes, production materials and more will be on display this month as part of Propstore’s first Entertainment Memorabilia Live Auction of the year.
The Hollywood-centric event will take place March 25–27 in Los Angeles, presenting more than 1,550 rare lots available for worldwide bidding, with a combined pre-sale estimate of $9 million.
In addition to Charlie’s actual “golden ticket” from Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory (as pictured above), the auction also features standout pieces from the iconic Star Wars universe.
Leading the curation is a light-up C-3PO head from The Empire Strikes Back (1980), the only known example of the beloved character’s head from the second film to appear on the collector market. Check out Propstore’s joint Instagram post below showcasing the piece from far, far away.
Plus, Propstore’s auction will feature two grail pieces from Steven Spielberg‘s Jaws (1975), presented following the blockbuster film’s 50th anniversary last year. Headlining the selection is the screen-matched harpoon gun used by Quint (Robert Shaw) and Matt Hooper (Richard Dreyfuss), accompanied by its original case from aboard the Orca.
Then there’s everyone’s favorite volleyball from the world of cinema. Tom Hanks‘ screen-matched companion from Cast Away (2000) known as “Wilson” will also be available for bidding later this month. If you saw the movie, don’t pretend like you didn’t cry when the ball floated away in the ocean. Check out the preview image of Wilson below.
Here are some other Hollywood highlights from the L.A. event:
Gladiator (2000) — Maximus’ (Russell Crowe) arena helmet and mask
Black Panther (2018) Black Panther stunt helmet on Chadwick Boseman bust
Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban (2004) — The Marauder’s Map
The Wizard of Oz (1939) Cowardly Lion’s (Bert Lahr) Medal of Courage prototype
