One royal expert that believes that the effort for reconciliation is now there is GB Royal Editor Cameron Walker.
However, Mr Walker believes that while the reconciliation may now be underway, it may not be proven to have been a success for two years.
This is because King Charles is believed to have been invited to Prince Harry’s Invictus Games Foundation competition being held in Birmingham in 2027.
If the monarch does attend, this would be a “public show of support” for Harry, suggesting that the rift between father-and-son is in fact healed.
However, writing on GB News, Mr Cameron did say that trust needs to be rebuilt first, with the monarch no doubt wanting to be sure that his youngest son, who quit royal life in 2020, won’t leak any of their private conversations.
This is because since leaving royal life five years ago, Harry has not been quiet about expressing his dislike for some aspects of royal life, revealing private moments between himself and royal relatives, especially in his 2023 memoir Spare.
It is this lack of trust which is believed to be one of the main reasons why Prince William, 43, has not met Harry this week, and has not been on talking terms with his younger brother for some time.
Since the private meeting yesterday between father-and-son, no details of what Harry or the King spoke about has been disclosed. Instead, Harry simply said his father was “great” when asked at an Invictus Games event shortly after the meeting on Wednesday evening.
