Reba McEntire recently opened up about life after her divorce from Narvel Blackstock.
In an interview with Esquire published earlier this week, the country star, 70, admitted she had a rough time after she and Blackstock, 70 — with whom she shares son Shelby Blackstock, 35 — ended their 26-year union in 2015.
“My manager was my husband from 1989 to 2015. Everybody took care of everything,” the Voice judge recalled. “All I had to do was get up and sing. When that dissolved, all that team went with him, and I was scared to death.”
“I was deserted, abandoned and left,” she added. “I threw a fit.”

However, the “I’m a Survivor” hitmaker was able to rebuild her life.
“And then there they were, my angels, right there beside me,” she explained. “‘Hey, you’re learning. You didn’t know how much a gallon of milk was, now you do. Now get out there. You can do it. You’re tough. We taught you better.’”
McEntire — who lost her stepson, Brandon Blackstock, to melanoma cancer in August — noted her faith has helped her through difficult times.
“I don’t know how I would get through the day without my faith,” she told Esquire. “It’s there to celebrate with me, and it’s there to help me get back on my feet when something really horrible happens.”
The Happy’s Place actress is now engaged to her boyfriend, Rex Linn, whom she began dating in 2020, according to People.
