Jennifer Aniston is in the middle of a whirlwind press tour for the fourth season of The Morning Show — but she’s already fretting about losing good friend and costar Reese Witherspoon to another project, a source tells the National Enquirer.
“Reese can’t wait to team up with Nicole Kidman for season 3 of Big Little Lies,” explains the source, “and it’s giving Jen major anxiety that her costar’s already got one foot out the door.”
Witherspoon, 49, confirmed that writing is underway for the return of her HBO hit — which last aired in 2019 — during an appearance on the Tonight Show on Thursday, September 11.
“It’s exciting to get the gang back together and have everybody start talking about it. It’s really fun,” the Oscar winner told Jimmy Fallon.

Aniston, 56, “loves” Kidman, 58, “and she’s certainly not going bitter about her and Reese having this success [with Big Little Lies],” the source says, “but she can’t help but worry it might push Reese away from The Morning Show. Their relationship is the heart of the show, so naturally it makes her anxious to see Reese working on other things.”
The actresses, who have known each other since they played sisters on Friends 25 years ago, are both executive producers of the Apple TV+ series, which returns on September 17. (Season 5 has not yet been confirmed.) “We’ve grown up together,” Aniston told Good Morning America on September 15.
And while Witherspoon gushed to People on September 9 that The Morning Show “is a family that Jen and I put together, so that’s really meaningful,” the source says she isn’t as “attached” as her costar.
“Reese loves working with Jen, but she loves to do lots of different things,” the source points out. “Jen is the opposite. She did Friends for a decade and that was an ideal situation for her because she likes consistency. In her perfect world, The Morning Show will go for many more years.”
