EL SEGUNDO, Calif. — Hollywood icon Robert Redford has died at the age of 89.
Redford, a Southern California native, was known for iconic films in “Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid,” “The Way We Were,” “The Sting” and “All the President’s Men.”
He later won an Oscar for directing the best picture winning movie “Ordinary People.”
Redford also founded the Sundance Film Institute to support the growth of independent films.
