Report Reveals New Location for Season 4 of ‘The White Lotus’

The drama is heading somewhere new.

Sources told Deadline on Thursday that HBO’s hit TV series, The White Lotus, is headed to France for its fourth season.

Written by Mike White, the TV show follows an anthology format, meaning each season is set in a different location and features a brand-new cast, sometimes including recurring characters. For instance, Season 1 was set in Maui, Hawaii, Season 2 in Sicily, Italy and Season 3 was located in Thailand.

The White Lotus is a dark comedy-drama that follows the wealthy and the dysfunctional interactions of guests and staff at a series of luxurious, fictional “White Lotus” resorts over the course of one week. Each season begins with a death and gradually unfolds as the entitled behavior and hidden secrets of multiple travelers clash with the resort’s idyllic setting and the lives of its staff.

The show was renewed for a fourth season in January of this year, weeks before Season 3 premiered. So far, TheWhiteLotus has won 15 Emmy Awards across its first two seasons. In 2025, the show’s third season received 23 nominations, with winners set to be announced on Sept. 14.

The sources told Deadline that HBO has still not chosen a hotel for filming. HBO has a marketing partnership with the luxury resorts chain Four Seasons, which doubles as the White Lotus hotels. Many have speculated that the fourth season could be filmed at the Grand-Hôtel du Cap-Ferrat, which is located on the Cap-Ferrat peninsula on the French Riviera. Plus, the location has strong Hollywood ties because of its proximity to Cannes, and it’s the most similar to the other seaside resorts used throughout the series. The two other Four Seasons hotels in France are the Megève in the French Alps and Hotel George V in Paris.

Though many fans have expressed a winter season at a ski resort for years now, many cast members revealed that White hates the cold and has declined suggestions about ski resort locations.

So far, there has not been any official announcement about the cast, filming locations or release date for Season 4. Fans can watch all three seasons of The White Lotus on HBO Max.
