Leave it to Dorinda Medley to set the record straight.
Medley, 61, squashed rumors that she and the former stars of Real Housewives of New York City are feuding with the reboot cast while chatting with Kiki Monique during a Tuesday, July 21, episode of her “Talk of Shame” podcast.
She continued, “All this bulls*** that the ‘The girls don’t want anything to do with the new New York Housewives.’ You know how there’s all these things coming out that there’s some sort of — There’s zero rivalry!”
Medley, who stars on The Golden Life along with RHONY legends, said. “There hasn’t been one talk on — not at least to me, and I’m pretty close to everyone about that.”
Medley added that “no one” has talked about a rivalry between the old and new cast because “there’s enough room for everyone.”
“You know, it’s a totally different show!” she noted. “I mean, listen, these are girls that are 20, 30, years younger that are living fully different lives in New York. We all have a story to tell. Theirs is about their life, you know, what they’re doing now with marriage and husbands and children.” She explained that The Golden Life “is about empty nesters and what it’s like to be fabulous over 50 and how the world opens up.”
“So I really want those rumors to be quelled,” Medley said. “You know me. I would tell the truth, you know. I’m the first one to be like, ‘Yeah, that’s right, we’re coming after them.’ But we’re not! I swear to you, there hasn’t been one conversation like that. So I don’t know who’s getting that information, but it’s not anybody that I speak to.”
More RHONY members backed her up via social media. Carole Radziwill commented, “You know it. Only love. Miss you 😘,” while Luann de Lesseps added, “Well said D 👊🏻.” Heather Thomson commented, “❤️ holla!!!” and Margaret Josephs, who previously starred on The Real Housewives of New Jersey and now is cast on The Golden Life, wrote, “❤️❤️❤️ .”
The RHONY reboot cast also confirmed that there was no beef going on. Erin Dana Lichy commented, “We genuinely all love each other,” while Hailey Glassman agreed, “Exactly! Thank you for squashing that nonsense. That’s like comparing Sex and the City to The Golden Girls. Like .. it’s a totally different show.”
Medley stars on The Golden Life alongside Lesseps, 61, Ramona Singer, Sonja Morgan, Kelly Bensimon and Candace Bushnell.
