Richard Gere and Wife Alejandra Silva Offer Rare Look at Family Time with Their Kids After Leaving L.A. for Spain

Richard Gere and Alejandra Silva shared a glimpse into their Fourth of July celebration.

The couple and their youngest sons, Alexander, 7, and James, 6, marked the occasion with a trip to the Statue of Liberty in New York City, a beach outing and a fireworks display, according to a joint Instagram post on Saturday, July 4.

Reflecting on the holiday, Gere, 76, and Silva, 43, wrote in the caption, “Deeply grateful for a life built between two countries, two cultures, and so many people we love.”

“Today, we celebrate connection, family, friendship, and everything that reminds us that home is not only a place, but the people we carry in our hearts,” the caption continued.

“Happy Fourth of July to our family and friends across the United States,” the couple concluded.

The carousel began with a snap of Gere, Silva, Alexander and James on a boat with Lady Liberty in the background.

Alexander and James wore white caps with red, white and blue life vests for the water outing, while the Maybe I Do actor stayed cool in a long-sleeved gray top, gray pants and sunglasses. Silva, meanwhile, wore a beige ensemble with a white jacket and oversized sunnies.

The post also included snaps of the two boys on the beach near a picnic blanket, the Statue of Liberty and a video of fireworks at nighttime. They shared additional videos of the fireworks display with Alexander and James’ silhouettes.

Gere is also father to Homer, 26, whom he shares with ex Carey Lowell, and Silva shares Albert Friedland, 13, with ex Govind Friedland.

Earlier in the day, Gere and Silva showed off their outdoorsy lifestyles in a joint video on Instagram. The clip began with Silva filming a lake in a forest before walking along a stone pathway up to the actor.

Gere was shown walking a few steps ahead of Silva. At one point, The Agency star stopped to take photos of their surroundings on his phone, continued to walk and then turned to face his wife.

“Some paths are meant to be walked slowly. Not because of where they lead, but because of who you share them with,” the caption read.

The actor and the Spanish activist got married in 2018. Six years later, in 2024, they announced that they were moving to Spain.

Back in May, Silva shared a tribute marking her eighth wedding anniversary to the Pretty Woman actor.

“Eight years ago today, we gathered with our families and the people we love most to celebrate the beginning of our life together,” she captioned an Instagram post that contained pictures of their big day.
