Riverfront Rendezvous will feature a drone light show, bigger fireworks display and more entertainment in 2026 to celebrate the country’s 250th anniversary.
STEVENS POINT – Riverfront Rendezvous will add even more festivities for its 42nd year to celebrate the country’s 250th anniversary.
This year’s free festival will run July 3-5 and will include an extra Downtown Stage to accommodate more entertainment, a bigger fireworks display and a drone light show at dusk on Saturday, July 4 over the Wisconsin River, thanks to an additional $30,000 donation from the Seramur Family Foundation, according to a May 13 announcement from the city.
Bingo will return to the Pfiffner Building with the help of volunteers from the Stevens Point Elks Lodge and the McDill Lake District Association. It will be held from 1-3 p.m. July 4 and 5.
The Pfiffner Building will also host Subject to Change, a local comedy improvisation group on Saturday afternoon, adding to the lineup of polka bands Friday and Sunday evenings, according the city’s announcement.
The annual Carp Classic and Market in the Park will run Saturday.
The Independence Day Parade will travel down Main Street starting at 10 a.m. Saturday and will include new groups like a horse-drawn military caisson, a flyover and a military band, thanks to Joe Alexander from the Plover VFW and American Legion Post 6, according to the release.
Riverfront Rendezvous will end July 5 with the Festival Food Fireworks show at dusk along the Wisconsin River.
Mayor Mike Wiza said this year’s festival will be an exciting event.
“There’s a lot to be excited about this year but I’m most excited about the drone light show”, Wiza said. “Not only will it be the first in central Wisconsin and cool as heck, but it also offers an alternative to the loud fireworks display. It’s small, but it provides something we haven’t seen before here.”
The Stevens Point Parks, Recreation and Forestry Department announced in February the full lineup of entertainment, including three stages of musical entertainment.
BoDeans, Julian Gross, Wasted on Wallen, Dig Deep and Dombrowski’s Happy Notes will perform on Friday, July 3.
Too Hype Crew, Bomber and Red, Amelia Ford Band, Tae and the Neighborly, One Beer Please, TJ Morrow, FBI and the Untouchable Horns, New Dueling Pianos and Sister Sadie will perform on Saturday, July 4.
Spicy Tie, Phat Phunktion, Pat McCurdy, Brass Queens, Good Morning Bedlam, Dandelion Delivery Service, Brett Newski and the Bad Inventions with The Shabs, Michelle LL and The Mix Polka Band will perform on Sunday, July 5.
