Destination X presenter Rob Brydon revealed a huge twist he’d introduce on the show
Rob Brydon was on the This Morning sofa on Thursday (28 August) to discuss all things Destination X ahead of the show’s highly anticipated finale.
The Gavin and Stacey actor was interviewed by Rylan Clark and Josie Gibson on the ITV programme. The presenting duo had plenty of questions about the BBC game show, which has had TV fans gripped for weeks.
Josie was keen to find out if a celebrity version of the show had been considered and probed Rob to reveal the stars he’d select to appear.
“I’d put Lee Mack in,” Rob revealed, prompting Rylan and Josie to laugh. He then said he’d introduce a new twist to the format of Destination X for the celebrities.

“And, I’d never let them off!” Rob exclaimed as the presenters cracked up laughing. “Just drive around, basically.”
Rylan had earlier admitted he’d find it difficult to manage on Destination X, as the bus windows are constantly blacked out and the contestants don’t know where they are.
Rob shed further light on the situation the contestants face on the show, revealing he saw them “crack” as the series continued.
“They also didn’t know what time of day it was. Obviously, their phones were taken off them. No watches, no clock. So, that sort of Big Brother element, because there are cameras everywhere,” he revealed.
Rob added, “One of our players was Nick, and he’s an endurance athlete and marathon runner. I think he really suffered from the lack of exercise. He runs and runs and runs, and then he’s just cooped up.
“And, they’re not sleeping as well. It’s fascinating, as well as seeing all of this gorgeous scenery. Just seeing how they start to basically crack.”
Elsewhere, Rob revealed he wasn’t involved with the show’s casting in any capacity and joked that his wife had questioned his bold wardrobe choices on the BBC show before filming.
Destination X will end on Thursday (28 August) with one final hour-long episode on BBC One. Following Daren’s exit in Wednesday evening’s episode, the three remaining contestants, Josh, Judith, and Saskia, will fight it out to win the £100,000 jackpot.
Destination X continues on BBC One at 9pm on Thursday, 28 August. All episodes are available to stream on BBC iPlayer.
