Dancing With the Stars season 34 is set to premiere on Tuesday, September 16, 2025 on ABC and Disney+.
Contestant Robert Irwin revealed if his sister, season 21 winner Bindi Irwin, gave him advice for competing on DWTS.
Bindi also shared a video message for him with advice for competing in season 34.
As Robert Irwin prepares to compete on Dancing With the Stars season 34, it looks like he’s getting some advice from a former competitor that holds a special place in his heart.
The news of Robert joining the ABC series first broke in April 2025, and now fans are weeks away from seeing him hit the ballroom dance floor on September 16, 2025. But viewers may also remember there’s a bit of family history with DWTS, as Robert’s sister Bindi Irwin actually won season 21 back in 2015. And if that’s not enough, Robert was in the audience to see his sister compete with partner Derek Hough throughout her time on the show.
So, now that it’s Robert’s turn to be on Dancing With the Stars, is there a chance Bindi shared some wisdom about the show? As Robert and his partner Witney Carson spoke to E! News on September 3, it turned out the siblings did exchange some words about the upcoming season.
“You know, [Bindi] really said just try and give it your all, but enjoy and make it your own,” Robert stated in a clip posted on Instagram. “I’m excited to do that. I was just so proud of her and watching her just light up the ballroom. I mean, proudest little brother in the world, and that’s why I’m here. That’s why I’m doing this. And the fact that, you know, you were there on that season, and now we’re doing this. It’s just incredible.”
But if you think this is the only thing Bindi told Robert about being on DWTS, think again.
As the rest of the Dancing With the Stars season 34 cast was revealed on Good Morning America, it turned out Bindi had another message for Robert while live on the air.
“Hey, Robert! I am so excited that you are embarking on your Dancing with the Stars journey—oh my goodness!” she shared in a video message, via Instagram. “This is going to change your entire life, and you are going to remember this forever. I am so proud of you. Let your personality shine and you’ve got this! I can’t wait to cheer you on every week.”
Well, we’re certainly excited to see what dance moves Robert has up his sleeve… and maybe this is a chance for Bindi to get back on the floor as well? We wouldn’t mind seeing a brother-sister dance routine happen at some point this season!
And as for how fans felt about Bindi’s advice for Robert on DWTS, they definitely were into the sibling bond online.
“The Irwin family, especially the sibling love is just pure gold ❤️🥹,” one person wrote in the Instagram comments. “My fave siblings awe 💕,” another declared. “The Irwins have my heart 😭❤️,” a different follower added.
