It’s a very good time to be a Robert Plant fan right now.
At 77 years old, the iconic former Led Zeppelin singer is showing no signs of slowing down; on the contrary, he’s releasing a new album, Saving Grace (with the band of the same name) later this month, and he’s hitting the road on a tour of North American in October.
While Saving Grace won’t be out for another few weeks (the album is scheduled for release on Sept. 26), the exquisitely animated video for the opening track, “Chevrolet,” was released this week…and fans are already obsessed.
Commenters on YouTube were blown away by the song, which is actually Plant and Saving Grace’s take on the 1965 Donovan tune “Hey Gyp (Dig the Slowness)” (itself an adaptation of the 1930 Delta blues classic “Can I Do it for You” by Memphis Minnie and Kansas Joe McCoy).
“A true Artist. Still exploring boundaries and making fantastic music. 10 out of 10. 20 out of 10. Just brilliant,” one person wrote, with another calling the song a “classic,” adding, “Love this cover, Mr. Plant. You are definitely hitting on all cylinders lately.”
“Listening to this song is like stepping into a sacred space — where ancient traditions meet new visions,” raved someone else. “Robert Plant proves once again that music is not about the past or the future, but about timeless emotion. This song carries history, soul, and a sense of rediscovery that only Plant could deliver.”
Robert Plant’s Fall 2025 Tour Lineup
In addition to vocalist Suzi Dian, Plant will be joined on his upcoming tour by Saving Grace band members Oli Jefferson on drums, Tony Kelsey on guitar, Matt Worley on banjo and strings and Barney Morse-Brown on the cello.
“It’s an impressive collection of people now,” Plant said of his current lineup, per Louder. “I can’t tell you how lucky I feel about this. What I am really impressed by is this living, new world of whatever this music is. With this mélange of music, song and voice, anywhere and everywhere is the way to see the road ahead.”
Plant and Saving Grace are scheduled to kick things off on Oct. 30 in Wheeling, WV…and tickets are in high demand, so interested fans should definitely act fast.
