Are the Foo Fighters about to release some new music?
It certainly seems that way, thanks to a series of social media posts from Dave Grohl & Co. over the past week or so.
This one turned up last Wednesday, a collection of short soundbites paired with the phrase “This is just a test”:
Another turned up Monday, another set of clips set to the caption “Of a broken broadcast system”:
This latest new music tease came after Grohl was spotted in the stands at Super Bowl LX at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, Calif., on Feb. 8. He was ready for his close-up:

Should the Foo Fighters be preparing to imminently unleash new music — which feels like it’s the case here — it’ll mark the follow-up to “Asking for a Friend,” a single debuted by the band back in October:
Any new Foo music will also be the first released since drummer Ilan Rubin officially took over behind the kit, replacing Josh Freese (who was the first drummer to take on the role since the passing of Taylor Hawkins in 2022). A new record would also be the first since 2023’s But Here We Are, which was the initial musical statement the band made following Hawkins’ death.
With Rubin, the Foo Fighters have played a series of club gigs and a fundraising concert at the Kia Forum in Los Angeles on Jan. 14, for Grohl’s 57th birthday.
The band also has a big run of 2026 tour dates coming up with pals Queens of the Stone Age:
August 4 — Toronto ON — Rogers Stadium
August 6 — Detroit MI — Ford Field
August 8 — Chicago IL — Soldier Field
August 10 — Cleveland OH — Huntington Bank Field
August 13 — Philadelphia PA — Lincoln Financial Field
August 15 — Nashville TN — Nissan Stadium
August 17 — Washington DC — Nationals Park
September 12 — Fargo ND — Fargodome
September 15 — Regina SK — Mosaic Stadium at Taylor Field
September 17 — Edmonton AB — Commonwealth Stadium
September 20 — Vancouver BC — BC Place
September 26 — Las Vegas NV — Allegiant Stadium
Stay tuned for more on whatever the Foo Fighters have up their sleeves this time.
