Leonard Nimoy is the most iconic version of Spock in the Star Trek series, but the actor was reportedly not the first choice for the character, as creator Gene Roddenberry offered it to Martin Landau before him. Landau, who is known for his roles in Ed Wood and North by Northwest, reportedly rejected the role and chose Mission: Impossible (via Starlog).
