Rosalía’s New Album, 'Lux' - Everything to Know

When Rosalía sat down with ELLE for her September 2025 cover story, she was asked about her highly anticipated fourth studio album—the follow-up to her Grammy-winning 2022 project Motomami. At the time of the interview, the new LP hadn’t been finished yet.

“What is time?” she said. “That’s so relative! So there’s always a deadline and, well, the deadline can always change.”

But now, she’s revealed that her new album, Lux, is officially on its way. Here’s everything you need to know about Rosalía’s forthcoming studio album.

When does Lux come out?

Lux will be released on Friday, Nov. 7, 2025.

Has she released a single yet?

Yes. On October 27, she released “Berghain” featuring Björk and Yves Tumor. In the song, Rosalía sings opera in German and Spanish, while Björk and Yves Tumor deliver their lines in English.

For the music video, Rosalía performs alongside a full orchestra as she goes about everyday tasks like ironing, making her bed, and riding public transit before it transitions into a Snow White-like sequence with singing animals.

About working with Björk, Rosalía told the New York Times’ Popcast podcast, “She is my favorite woman and artist.” When they met for tapas in Barcelona, “I thought that she was the most fascinating human I’ve ever met because her train of thought was so different than I’ve ever seen before. It was just an instant crush of admiration. We stayed in touch and I just felt like with this album, if this was such a strong, demanding musical exercise, if I was doing it good enough, maybe I would send it to her, and if it was in the right level, maybe then she couldn’t say no.”

Can I see the full track list?

Lux will have 18 songs, including three physical exclusives. They are categorized into four “movements,” a classical term used to describe the sections or parts of a composition. See the full track list below:

MOV I

1. “Sexo, Violencia y Llantas”

2. “Reliquia”

3. “Divinize”

4. “Porcelana”

5. “Mio Cristo”

MOV II

6. “Berghain”

7. “La Perla”

8. “Mundo Nuevo”

9. “De Madrugá”

MOV III

10. “Dios Es Un Stalker”

11. “La Yugular”

12. “Focu ‘ranni” [CD/vinyl exclusive]

13. “Sauvignon Blanc”

14. “Jeanne” [CD/vinyl exclusive]

MOV IV

15. “Novia Robot” [CD/vinyl exclusive]

16. “La Rumba Del Perdón”

17. “Memória”

18. “Magnolias”

What’s the concept behind Lux?

“The main inspiration is feminine mystique,” she told Popcast. She also said that the album is very spiritual, and that it has the “intention of verticality.” She added, “I think that I’ve always had a desire of, how can I get close to God? How can I be closer to God? That spiritual feeling has always been there; it’s just that I haven’t rationalized it or intellectualized it.”

And in a time where everything may feel superficial, she wants depth. “The more we are in the era of dopamine, the more I want the opposite,” she said. “That’s what I’m craving.”

Can I hear any of the album ahead of its release?

Yes! During her Popcast interview, short song clips were played throughout. Around the 21:25 mark, you can hear “Dios Es Un Stalker”; at 31:35, “Sauvignon Blanc”; at 41:38, “Mio Cristo”; and at 1:17:26, “La Perla.”

Wait—how many languages will she sing in?

In addition to recording the album with the London Symphony Orchestra, Rosalía revealed that she sings in 13 different languages on Lux, including Spanish, English, Latin, German, Ukrainian, Arabic, and more.

“I love traveling, I love learning from other humans,” she told Popcast. “Why would I not try to learn another language and try to sing in another language and expand the way I can be a singer or a musician or an artist? The world is so connected.”

She added, “It’s because of the love and curiosity, wanting to understand better the other. You know, [the philosopher] Simone Weil, she says, ‘love is to love the distance between ourselves and the loved object.’ And I think it’s true: Through understanding the other, maybe you can understand yourself better, and you can learn how to love better.”
