YouTuber Rosanna Pansino is sending a message to her followers after receiving “negative comments” about her weight.

“I’ve been seeing a lot of negative comments about my weight recently [and I] wanted to address them directly. As many of you know, I suffer from severe PMDD,” Pansino, 40, wrote via X on Saturday, March 7, referring to Premenstrual Dysphoric Disorder.

Pansino, who has more than 14 million YouTube subscribers, explained that “it is a disorder that drastically affects” her daily life and “requires multiple specialists as well as an always changing and detailed health regimen to manage.”

“I have good weeks, bad weeks, and horrible weeks, which is just what living with PMDD is like,” she wrote. “One treatment option we tried was a new birth control that is FDA approved to help with PMDD symptoms. Unfortunately, it did not work for me and also caused me to gain 25 pounds in under 3 months. We are moving to try new treatments.”

She continued, “While gaining the weight wasn’t intentional, I am learning to love my new curves while I focus on my health. Commenting on someone’s weight, especially when you don’t know what they’re going through, is pointless and cruel.”

Pansino noted that “the vast majority” of her followers “have always been loving and supportive” of her.

“You are the people who inspire me and that I appreciate fully,” she concluded. “Beauty has always come in all shapes and sizes. Thank you.”

Alongside the message, Pansino shared a video of her smiling for the camera as she showed off her pink-printed two-piece outfit. In the comments section, users shared their support for Pansino.

“Your weight is nobody’s business. cute outfit!! and great attitude,” one user wrote, to which Pansino responded, “Thank you! You are so kind!”

In a separate post on X, Pansino opened up about the symptoms she suffers from with PMDD.

“About 1 to 2 weeks before your period starts, progesterone drops to prepare for your period,” she wrote via X on Sunday, March 8. “Women with PMDD have a disordered reaction to the drop in progesterone. The progesterone converts into another hormone called Allopregnanolone. Allopregnanolone binds to GAB-A receptor. This is the same receptor that alcohol and Benzodiazepines like Xanax bind to.”

She continued, “For women with PMDD, what they experience can be similar to withdrawal from Xanax and Alcohol every month until their period starts. It feels brutal and is debilitating.”
