Blackpink’s Rosé received Grammy nominations for her single “APT.”
The K-pop star shared a video of her live reaction to the news.
She received nods for Song of the Year, Record of the Year Alongside, and Best Pop Duo/Group Performance.
On Friday, Blackpink’s Rosé was nominated in three categories for her hit single “APT.” with Bruno Mars. She actually made history as the first K-pop idol to be nominated for Record of the Year or Song of the Year. The pair also received a nod for Best Pop Duo/Group Performance.
After the announcement, Rosé shared an Instagram Story of her real-time reaction to the news. In the clip, she is watching the nominations ceremony with friends while on a group FaceTime call. As it gets closer to the end of the list, she can be heard asking “Are we not going to get it?” before adding, “Aw, maybe we’re not going to get it.”
But Rosé and Mars then get their names called and everyone cheers. Rosé exclaims, “Oh my god!”
The song has received accolades since it debuted at No. 8 on the Billboard Hot 100 earlier this year. It also debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard Global Charts and received an MTV Video Music Award for Song of the Year.
In a Hollywood Reporter interview in October, Rosé shared she was “getting chills” thinking about the potential historical moment ahead.
“I think it’ll be a moment that proves to myself so many things that I grew up doubting,” she continued. “I think if this happens, then it’s going to mean more to so many more people than myself. It’ll just prove a lot in me as well. It’ll just be a moment of celebration for everyone who believes.”
