Meghan Markle has been condemned by a royal expert who claimed that her choice to post a photograph of her children at Princess Diana’s home was a “vulgar act.”
The Duchess of Sussex shared an image on her Instagram account where Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet could be seen walking in the grounds of Princess Diana‘s childhood home, Althorp Estate. In the snap, Archie carried a bouquet, leading people to believe they were going to pay tribute to the former Princess of Wales at her gravesite.
Her decision to post the image garnered significant criticism online, with people sharing their disappointment with the estranged royal. However, it’s been alleged that she has not only angered the general public, but also Prince William.
Maureen Callahan, a Daily Mail columnist who is known for sharing her insights on the British Royal Family, wrote a scathing opinion piece about the incident.
She believes that Meghan may have posted the image as “an act of defiance,” especially as no photographs were allegedly allowed to be taken at Harry and Meghan’s meeting with King Charles earlier this month.

Maureen then noted that Prince William and his wife, Kate Middleton, have surely visited Princess Diana’s grave with their three children, George, Charlotte, and Louis. However, no photos of this have ever been released.
“William and Catherine are decent, serious people who understand that some things are sacred,” Maureen wrote. “Diana was buried on that island, at her family’s private residence, precisely to keep her gravesite from becoming a circus, a tourist attraction, a commodity.”
The columnist then slammed Meghan, labeling the image’s publication “vulgar” and “callous,” comparing it to the time she shared a video of herself lounging in a car near where Princess Diana died, something that reportedly left William “fuming.”
This comes as a source told the outlet that Harry is beginning to yearn for reconciliation as he reportedly was left feeling “estranged” from his family.
“I don’t think [Harry’s] ever wanted to be estranged from his family,” the source said. “I think when he was madly in love with Meghan, he could be blind enough to choose her. Now things are different, and the veil is lifting.”
Last year, it was also reported that the Duke of Sussex was feeling homesick, with his pal claiming that he missed his native country.
One confidant close to the Duke revealed to the Standard, “Spike (his nickname among his old school friends) is seriously homesick. He’s started reaching out to us more and more.”
They added, “It started with very long and earnest WhatsApps. We actually all made a decision when we started getting them not to take the p— out of them. Something we couldn’t have imagined doing a few years before. Anyway, gradually, he seems to be sounding more normal.”
“Whenever anyone goes to America, they try to see him. It never seems to be with Meghan, though. We think he is beginning to pine for home,” the insider concluded.
