Twelve iconic photographs of the late Queen Elizabeth will feature on a special edition stamp set to mark the centenary of her birth. Ahead of the anniversary on April 21, Royal Mail has released a dozen stamps alongside a range of collectable products.
Eight of the pictures used capture Britain’s longest-serving monarch from early childhood through the later years of her reign, each reflecting a different decade of her life. A further four stamps, presented in a miniature sheet, reflect her lifelong love of horses and dogs.
David Gold, Director of External Affairs & Policy, Royal Mail, said: “With these Special Stamps, we pay tribute to the late Queen, whose commitment to duty was unparalleled in history. The stamps tell the remarkable story of a very public life of dedicated service, and a more private passion for dogs and horses, about which Her Majesty was a renowned expert.”
