Police have confirmed a Royal Navy helicopter is involved
Emergency services are at the scene after a Royal Navy helicopter crashed into a field at Sourton Down, near Okehampton, in Devon.
An investigation is under way into the crash at just before 4am today, a Royal Navy spokesman said.
Several road closures are in place around the A386 and A30 Sourton Cross slip and services area.
A spokesperson for Devon and Cornwall Police said: “The incident is ongoing and we will share more updates as we have them. The Ministry of Defence have confirmed it was a Royal Navy helicopter.”

The helicopter is believed to have crashed in the early hours of this morning (June 3), the Mirror reports. Locals reported hearing a “loud bang” in the area at around 3am.
