Players from the Kansas City Royals and St. Louis Cardinals will represent their respective team at the 2026 MLB All-Star Game.
Royals shortstop Bobby Witt Jr. and right-handed pitcher Michael Wacha were named American League All-Stars, the Royals announced.
Cardinals outfielder Jordan Walker and right-handed pitcher Riley O’Brien were named National League All-Stars, according to the Cardinals.
Cardinals manager Oliver Marmol will also go to Philadelphia after being selected as an honorary coach on Dodgers manager Dave Roberts’ National League staff, according to the Cardinals.
Witt was voted in as the American League’s starting shortstop. It is his third consecutive All-Star selection and his first fan election.
Witt joins Fred Patek in 1978 and Alcides Escobar in 2015 as the only Royals shortstops to win fan elections, according to the Royals.
Witt has continued to produce across multiple areas this season. He has 12 home runs, 38 RBIs and an .824 OPS, according to MLB.com. His speed has also been part of his All-Star case, with Witt recording his 30th stolen base of the season July 5.
Wacha earned the second All-Star selection of his career and his first since 2015, when he was with the Cardinals.
Wacha has a 3.77 ERA, 96 strikeouts and a 1.19 WHIP this season, according to MLB.com.
One of Wacha’s strongest moments came June 27, when he recorded his 1,500th career strikeout. The Royals said Wacha became the 17th active pitcher to reach that milestone.
Walker earned the first All-Star selection of his career after a breakout first half for St. Louis.
Walker entered the week with 19 home runs, 63 RBIs, an .867 OPS and 11 stolen bases through his first 83 games, according to the Cardinals.
Walker is the Cardinals’ first All-Star outfielder since Matt Holliday in 2015, according to the team.
O’Brien also earned the first All-Star selection of his career after taking over a key role in the Cardinals’ bullpen.
O’Brien has 22 saves, a 3.62 ERA, 36 strikeouts and a 1.15 WHIP this season, according to MLB.com.
The Cardinals’ team site reported O’Brien’s 22 saves were tied with San Diego’s Mason Miller for the National League lead to enter the week.
The All-Star Game is scheduled for July 14 at Citizens Bank Park in Philadelphia.
