SACRAMENTO, Calif. (KMIZ)
The Royals have ended their season on a high note.
Kansas City (82-80) captured a 9-2 victory over the Athletics (76-86) in its regular season finale, earning series wins against its final three opponents of the 2025 campaign.
However, manager Matt Quatraro’s team missed out on the postseason, finishing six games behind the Cleveland Guardians for the division crown and five games behind the Detroit Tigers for the final American League Wild Card spot.
The Royals recorded winning records in back-to-back seasons for the first time since the 2014-15 campaigns.
