READING, Pa. – Wheeling scored in the final minute of regulation to tie and then put home the game-winner in overtime to defeat the Royals 2-1 on Sunday at Santander Arena.
Just when it looked like Austin Saint’s first period goal would stand up for Reading, the Nailers pulled the goalie and got the equalizer from Ryan McAllister.
Six minutes into the extra session, Ryan McAllister assisted on Blake Bennett’s winning goal for Wheeling.
The Royals will complete the regular season with a pair of road contests next weekend in Florida.
