MADISON, S.D. — Parkston/Ethan/Hanson/Mount Vernon gymnastics won a high school dual meet on Monday over Madison. The Royals scored 134.900 points, edging the Bulldogs’ total of 134.150 for a winning margin of 0.750 points.
The Royals’ Rory Juhnke was the individual all-around winner with a score of 35.050 points. She was the vault champion (9.050) and on uneven bars (8.400), and second on floor exercise (9.000). Addison Duba was second in the all-around (34.700), vault (9.000) and uneven bars (8.250).
Claire Sommer had a winning beam score of 9.100 for PEHMV, and was third in the all-around (33.55). Hadlee Schoenfelder was sixth in the all-around (30.750) for the Royals. Madison’s Sophie Peterreins was the floor exercise event winner (9.050).
In the team scoring, the Royals bettered Madison in the vault and bars, while Madison held the edge on beam and floor.
PEHMV will host a dual competition against Wagner/Bon Homme at 9 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 20 at Ethan High School.
