Royals manager Matt Quatraro agrees to 3-year contract extension

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) – Royals manager Matt Quatraro isn’t going anywhere. On Sunday, the Royals announced a three-year extension with their manager that begins in 2027. The deal runs through 2029 and includes a club option for the 2030 season.

In three seasons in Kansas City, Quatraro has guided the Royals to a 224-262 (0.461) record. However, the team has seen dramatic improvement over the last two seasons, going 168-156 and winning a postseason series in 2024. The past two seasons were the Royals’ first back-to-back winning campaigns since 2013-15.

Quatraro, 52, finished second in the 2024 American League Manager of the Year voting.
