Terrance Gore, a longtime Major League Baseball player best known for his speed with the Kansas City Royals, has passed away at the age of 34.
Gore played eight seasons in the majors and carved out a rare role as a late-game runner. He appeared in 112 regular-season games but had only 85 plate appearances. His first career hit did not come until 2018. Even so, Gore made an impact, stealing 48 bases in 58 attempts, including key steals during postseason runs.
Gore debuted with the Royals in 2014, stealing a base in his first appearance. He became part of Kansas City’s playoff teams and helped the club win the 2015 World Series. He later earned World Series rings with the Dodgers in 2020 and the Braves in 2021.
Born in Macon, Georgia, Gore was drafted in 2011 and later worked as a trainer and youth coach. He is survived by his wife, Britney, and three children.
