They can do more than just host and touch letters. Wheel of Fortune hosts Ryan Seacrest and Vanna White showed off their dancing skills on the set of Celebrity Wheel of Fortune. Believe it or not, they were being taught by players on the Los Angeles Dodgers.
“The MLB All-Star Game was cool, just missing was a few hip locks on the base paths #wheeloffortune #gameshow #ladodgers,” the Wheel of Fortune Instagram page captioned their post on July 15.
The MLB All-Star Game took place between the American League and the National League on Tuesday, July 14. The American League won by a score of four to zero.
None of the players on Celebrity Wheel of Fortune were on the All-Star Game, but they were members of the World Series-winning team, the Los Angeles Dodgers. They were Freddie Freeman, Kiké Hernández, and Miguel Rojas. Their game is available to watch exclusively on Hulu and Disney+, along with the rest of the streaming-only season.
The video started with Seacrest having his arms in the air and moving his hips back and forth slowly. As the host looked over to the camera, he smirked.
Rojas then broke it down for him and showed him how to do it step-by-step. He showed him how to do the hip lock, where he lifts one leg up and tilts to the same side with his arms stretched over.
Seacrest pretended to fall over, but Hernández told him that it worked better if he did sound effects with it. “Ha!” Seacrest said as he tilted to the side. Freeman then demonstrated a move that was just moving your hips back and forth and then eventually putting your hands up, called the celly.
Vanna White tried this one and nailed it. Freeman shared that some of the guys don’t know how to do it and wave their hands instead of their hips. The various dance moves for the Dodgers stem from what happens at the plate. Sometimes it’s a hip lock, other times it’s the celly.

As the players talked about winning the World Series, White and Seacrest practiced the “Ha!” movement they were shown. Freeman then said that his signature move in high school was the worm. Ryan Seacrest wanted to see it, but the baseball player said he would only do it if all of the crew on the floor did it. Not all of them agreed, so it wasn’t shown.
“Gotta move those hips!” the Celebrity Wheel of Fortune page commented with a laughing emoji.
“Way to dance, Ryan,” another fan said.
“You know Ryan is from the ATL,” a fan said with fire emojis.
“He’s got a couple moves,” the WOF page replied.
“Seeing Ryan do the Celly was definitely not on my Wheel of Fortune bingo card,” another said. Other fans commented with laughing or clapping emojis.
