Sabrina Carpenter’s Reaction to Taylor Swift’s Engagement With Travis Kelce

The Internet’s favorite couple announced some exciting news on Tuesday.

Taylor Swift took to Instagram to announce that she and her longtime partner, Travis Kelce of the Kansas City Chiefs, are engaged. The couple has been together for over two years, with Swift cheering on Kelce at Chiefs games and Kelce returning the favor by attending numerous shows on Swift’s Eras Tour last year, showing support for her career every step of the way.

“Your English teacher and your gym teacher are getting married 🧨,” Swift wrote as her caption on her Instagram photos on Tuesday afternoon. She also used her own song, “So High School,” as the audio for the post.

Though the couple has tried to remain relatively private about their relationship, their engagement has sparked excitement online, with fans and fellow celebrities alike sharing their congratulations.

Sabrina Carpenter, a close friend of Swift, shared her excitement on Instagram. The 26-year-old singer reposted Swift’s engagement photos to her story just an hour after the announcement, captioning them with ten white heart emojis.

The two have built a close friendship over the past couple of years. The “Manchild” singer was a huge fan of Swift since she was a child, and told Billboard back in August 2023 that the 35-year-old singer was “one of [her] main inspirations ever since [she] was a little girl.” Carpenter also opened for Swift on several stops in Latin America, Australia and Singapore during the Eras Tour in late 2023 and early 2024, and joined her on stage to perform “Espresso” at the New Orleans stop in October 2024.

Carpenter is also set to be featured in Swift’s upcoming album, The Life of a Showgirl, which is set to drop on October 3. Their collaboration closes out the album as the title track. Currently, Carpenter is promoting her seventh studio album, Man’s Best Friend, which comes out this Friday.
