Sadie Sink opens up about similarities between ‘Stranger Things’ and ‘Spider-Man’
Sadie Sink has drawn a unique comparison between Stranger Things and her upcoming Spider-Man movie, leaving fans intrigued.
In a conversation with The Hollywood Reporter, the 23-year-old actress shared that she learned she would be joining the highly-anticipated Spider-Man franchise while she was still filming the fifth and final season of Netflix’s Stranger Things.
“Oh, it was crazy,” Sink revealed. “Spider-Man has always been my favorite. I love Spider-Man. I love Tom’s Spider-Man, especially.”
She added, “To be a fan of something and then join it is a familiar feeling for me, because I was a fan of Stranger Things before I joined the show, but I was super excited about what they had planned.”
The Dear Zoe actress said that the upcoming project is close to her heart, as it gave her the opportunity to reunite with director Destin Daniel Cretton, with whom she worked on The Glass Castle (2017).
“I also worked with the director, Destin Daniel Kretten, in one of the first movies I ever did when I was 14, so it’s kind of a full-circle moment,” Sink explained. “I had an amazing time working on that film.”
While she is keeping plot details tightly under wraps for now, the Eli actress hinted that more will be revealed down the line.
“I can’t wait to talk about it more. There’s so much I want to share,” she noted.
Toward the end, Sink joked that maintaining secrecy across both franchises comes naturally to her now.
“That’s why I feel like keeping Stranger Things secrets are kind of easy because I have so many Spider-Man secrets I’m sitting on that feel even more secretive,” she admitted.
It is worth noting that the final episode of Stranger Things Season 5, starring Sadie Sink, will drop on December 31, 2025.
Meanwhile, Spider-Man: Brand New Day is set to be released in theaters on July 31, 2026.
