For a second straight season, Royals shortstop Bobby Witt Jr. finished third in the MLB Network’s ranking of the Top 100 players in the game right now.

It’s clear that Witt is one of the biggest stars in the game right now.

Witt was interviewed on the MLB Network on Thursday night, and he talked about where he was ranked, the upcoming season and the fences being moved in at Kauffman Stadium.

Royals first baseman Vinnie Pasquantino shared an X post with his thoughts on the changes to the dimensions at The K.

“I think it’s cool the Royals were willing to make these changes to make it more of a neutral ballpark,” Pasquantino wrote.

Witt said the Royals hitters welcomed the change. And catcher Salvador Perez had a question.

“Yeah, a lot of the hitters are very happy, and the team’s pitchers aren’t,” Witt said. “But they’re gonna do well, no matter what. But yeah, the hitters are great. Salvy was just like, ‘What took it so long?’ But yeah, everyone is fired up. And so it’s gonna be fun.”

That’s classic Salvy.

Here is Witt’s interview, and check out that graphic at the start.

Former Royals disliked old dimensions

The X account Sleeper Royals shared a clip from last year’s “Diggin Deep” podcast that showed former KC stars Alex Gordon, Mike Moustakas and Eric Hosmer discussing the dimensions at Kauffman Stadium.

Gordon said he changed his approach at the plate because it was difficult to hit home runs. While playing, Gordon hoped the Royals would move in the fences. Alas, it never happened.

Makes you wonder what kind of damage these three would’ve done with the new dimensions🫣 pic.twitter.com/zFbmLbSifX
