Jeffrey Epstein appeared to have transferred £109,000 to Sarah Ferguson after a share sale, the newly released files show. Around three million documents regarding the convicted sex offender were released by the US Department of Justice on Friday.
Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor and his ex-wife, Fergie, appear in the documents plenty of times. Appearing in the Epstein files does not mean involvement in any wrongdoing. The transaction in question was dated 2001, and showed Epstein wiring the money to Ms Ferguson through his JP Morgan account, accprding to reports.
It was “one of the several cash injections” to the former Duchess, the files claim.
Other documents show various of Epstein’s dividends and purchases and transfers, as per the Mirror.
One of the various emails mentioning Ms Ferguson, dated 2009, sees Andrew’s former wife ask Epstein for £20,000 for rent.
The email exchange begins with a message from US lawyer and former NBS commissioner David Stern, who sends a copy of an ABC News story to Epstein, with the email title being: “Duchess of Debt? Closure of Sarah Ferguson’s Business”.
Epstein then copies in “ferg” into the chain, saying “You have a rat”.
The recipient, appearing to be Ms Ferguson, says “correct,” adding that a named investor broke a confidentiality agreement.
“ABC and all this is being handled by my lawyer.”
Other emails a sending appearing to be Fergie, calling Epstein a “legend” and describing him as the “brother I have always wished for”.
The former Duchess’s spokesman previously said she had expressed regret over her association with Epstein and “does not resile” from publicly condemning him.
