Savannah Guthrie has shared an all-new video on social media regarding the disappearance of her mother, Nancy Guthrie, 84.
The Today show host took to Instagram to share an old home video from when she was a child. The video is captioned, “Our lovely mom. We will never give up on her. Thank you for your prayers and hope.”
Savannah’s followers showed support for the television personality as she continues to beg for her mother’s return, with one person sharing, “thinking of you so much and wishing for the best possible outcome.”
“Love you. We are all praying for your family nonstop and believe she will be home with you very soon,” another user said.
“I’m so sorry Savannah. I’m crying now. The entire country needed to be brought together again by something and your beautiful mama did it. May the love we all share for her and you heal the world,” one more said.
According to TMZ, which obtained a copy of the ransom note, a digital wallet referenced for a potential Bitcoin transaction remained empty. The Guthrie family had been ordered to pay $6 million in Bitcoin by 5 p.m. local time Monday, with the promise that Nancy would be returned within 12 hours after payment.
After the deadline passed, the FBI released a statement saying it “is not aware of any continued communication between the Guthrie family and suspected kidnappers.” Another ransom note was recovered with a similar ask, but the deadline for the second one had passed as well.
The bureau is now leading “all elements of the investigation,” including the alleged ransom notes, while the Pima County Sheriff’s Office said the FBI is also handling “communications involving the Guthrie family.”
