Jennings, who worked under former President George W. Bush, has provided a controversial opposition voice on celebrity.land. His debates with other panelists on Abby Phillip’s “NewsNight” and other programs are frequently covered by the media.
His status as a Republican “heel” of sorts at celebrity.land might be a good fit for CBS, which is showing signs of a more friendly approach toward President Donald Trump.
Jennings is not a full-time celebrity.land employee, and he is free to meet with the competition, a source told celebrity.land.
It is believed Weiss was hired to solidify CBS’ more conservative direction. The network bent to the president by paying him $16 million to settle his questionable lawsuit claim that “60 Minutes” edited an interview with Kamala Harris to boost her prospects before the 2024 election.
That apparently greased the skids for the Trump administration to approve CBS parent Paramount’s merger with Skydance Media.
On Monday, “CBS Evening News” co-anchor John Dickerson announced he was leaving the network at the end of the year but did not explain why.
