Prince William and Kate Middleton just shared their annual Christmas card! The sweet snap showcases the family of five all in varying shades of green, sitting together in a meadow. “Wishing everyone a very Happy Christmas,” reads the caption.
The photo included in the greeting isn’t a new one; it stems from a previous photo shoot, which also produced images for Prince Louis’s birthday portrait in April and the family’s Father’s Day tribute to Prince William in June. It had also been previously speculated that Princess Charlotte was wearing her mother’s green plaid scarf that Kate wore on Christmas Day in 2024.
The photo was taken by London-based photographer Josh Shinner, who has captured several recent snaps for the Wales family, including the black and white portrait featured in their 2023 Christmas card. In that photograph, the Waleses all wore matching white button downs and jeans. The 2024 holiday greeting card, by contrast, was more relaxed and summery, taken at the family’s home in Norfolk.
Keeping with their new protocol, the Christmas card was released directly on William and Kate’s social media accounts, just as birthday portraits of Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis have been shared starting last year.
The Wales family have had a very busy holiday season so far. Both the Prince and Princess of Wales were front and center during the German State Visit and State Banquet during the first week of December. That was immediately followed by Kate’s fifth annual Christmas carol service at Westminster Abbey, which all three of the children attended. The entire family also went to Buckingham Palace on Tuesday for King Charles’s annual pre-Christmas lunch for the extended British royal family. The family’s longtime nanny, Maria Teresa Turrion Borrallo, also joined them.
