With less than a month out to the release of Taylor Swift’s 12th studio album, “The Life of a Showgirl,” fans are teeming with excitement in anticipation of the Oct. 3 release date.
While fans can stay up until midnight to listen to the new album, Target has announced that 500 stores will open at midnight, allowing fans to purchase it, which includes three special edition Target CDs.
In Florida, 23 Target stores will participate in the midnight release, including those on the Treasure Coast.
Here’s what you need to know about the album, as well as where fans in Florida and on the Treasure Coast can line up to purchase it.
‘The Life of a Showgirl’ alternate covers
The three Target-exclusive CDs join the other exclusive variants of CDs and vinyl records Swift has released on her website since announcing her new album on Aug. 11. Two days later, she revealed the cover and title during the “New Heights” podcast hosted by former Philadelphia Eagles player Jason Kelce and Kansas City Chiefs Travis Kelce, who is her fiancé.
The Target editions will include an 8-page lyric booklet and exclusive posters.

The tracklist for this album will feature 12 songs, including one featuring Sabrina Carpenter. Carpenter previously opened for Swift on the Eras Tour.

What does ‘The Life of a Showgirl’ mean?
Swift touched on how she got the inspiration for this album on the “New Heights” podcast, saying the theme of the album is everything that happened behind the Eras Tour curtain. The artwork represents the end of her night.
“My day ends with me in a bathtub, not usually in a bedazzled dress,” Swift told Jason Kelce during the podcast. “I wanted to glamorize all the different aspects of how (the Eras Tour) felt.”
