Selena Gomez is going back to work just days after her wedding to producer Benny Blanco.
The couple got married in an intimate wedding ceremony with their closest family and friends in Santa Barbara, Calif., on Sept. 27. Gomez revealed their relationship in December 2023 after the two had been dating privately for six months, and announced their engagement a year later in December 2024.
Some of the guests who were in attendance at the wedding ceremony included Taylor Swift, Ed Sheeran, Paris Hilton, her co-stars from Only Murders in the Buildingand Wizards of Waverly Place.
The “Who Says” singer announced on Wednesday afternoon via Instagram story that she will be releasing a new song titled “In the Dark” for the second season of Netflix’s Nobody Wants This. The first season of the show tells the story of an agnostic sex podcaster and a newly single rabbi who fall in love, discovering if their relationship survives their wildly different lives and meddling families. Season 2 of the TV show sees Joanne (Kristen Bell) and Noah (Adam Brody) deep in the honeymoon phase of their new relationship.
“In the Dark” is the first song of the Nobody Wants This official soundtrack for its second season. Other artists that are releasing new music and contributing to the soundtrack include Role Model, Teddy Swims, Chris Stapleton, Kacey Musgraves, Towa Bird, Royel Otis, FINNEAS, BENEE, Dermot Kennedy and more.
2025 also saw the singer’s first studio album in five years — a collaboration with Blanco titled I Said I Love You First, released in March. A deluxe version of the album came out a month and a half later, and she was recently featured in rapper Cardi B’s newest album, AM I THE DRAMA?.
On top of new music, Gomez continues to act in the TV series Only Murders in the Building, which is currently airing its fifth season on Hulu, serves as the founder of her makeup brand Rare Beauty and has established the Rare Impact Fund to support youth mental health initiatives.
Fans can now pre-save Gomez’s new song and the official soundtrack on Spotify and Apple Music. The second season of Nobody Wants This and its soundtrack will be released on Oct. 23.
