King Charles and Queen Camilla led senior royals to a church in Sandringham in eastern England, about 110 miles (175 km) northeast of London, greeting well-wishers in crisp winter weather.
Two days after the gathering, the official Instagram account of King Charles’ property shared a serene photo of the estate.
“Quiet moments on The Estate. Taking a deep breath and enjoying the winter peace before the New Year begins,” read the caption of the picture shared on Instagram by Sandringham Estate, which has over 70, 000 followers.
On December 25, Charles and Camilla walked ahead while the Prince and Princess of Wales, William and Kate, and their three children, followed.
Other family members included Princess Anne and her husband Tim Laurence, the Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh with their children, as well as the king’s niece Zara and her husband Mike Tindall.
The royals returned to Sandringham House for lunch before the king’s televised Christmas message later in the day.
The BBC reported on November 1, after the removal of former Prince Andrew’s royal titles, that he will not have to leave Royal Lodge immediately and could move to Sandringham as late as the new year.
King Charles stripped Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor of his remaining royal titles over links to Jeffrey Epstein and asked him to vacate Royal Lodge.
