Shania Twain’s friendship with Taylor Swift never goes out of style, even though she had to miss the star’s wedding to Travis Kelce earlier this month.
The “Man! I Feel Like A Woman!” singer revealed she had to skip the nuptials because she was opening for Harry Styles.
“Taylor Swift invited me to her wedding, and I couldn’t go because I was already committed to Harry’s shows,” Twain said in an interview with Canadian outlet etalk.
Twain opened for Styles during the leg of his Together, Together tour at Wembley Stadium in London from June 12 to July 4. Swift and Kelce married on July 3 at Madison Square Garden in New York.
“That would have been really lovely for me to be there, but I was with Harry,” Twain added.

Twain explained why she missed Swift’s wedding after being asked whether she would ever perform at Styles’ wedding.
“If I was available, I would,” she said about singing at Styles’ future wedding.
She quipped that Styles would have to ask “more in advance” for her to be able to attend.
“I would have done anything to be at Taylor’s wedding, I would have done anything,” Twain said.

Swift and Twain’s friendship dates back years, with the “I Knew It, I Knew You” singer often citing Twain as an inspiration.
“Learned from the best,” Swift captioned a 2021 TikTok video about country singers switching genres that included a slideshow of photos of her and Twain.
Twain has also praised Swift’s dedication in the past, calling her “an extremely hard worker” in a 2024 interview with Haute Living.
“She is living an exhausting existence, but she’s dedicated and committed to herself, to her art, and her work,” Twain told the outlet at the time.

Twain was not the only invited star who had to send their regrets.
NBA Hall of Famer Charles Barkley told 97.5 Fanatic’s “Unfiltered with Ricky Bo and Bill Colarulo” radio show on July 7 that he turned down an invitation to attend.
Barkley said he “politely declined,” explaining he “doesn’t go to weddings or funerals.”
“That’s just too much,” Barkley said. “I just want to hang out and play golf, and I don’t want to dress up and all that other stuff.”

Like Twain, Ryan Seacrest also had work obligations.
During a July 6 episode of “On Air with Ryan Seacrest,” he revealed that he’d initially planned on attending, but had to back out in the end.
“I RSVP’d to go, and then Disney hired me to do the Fourth of July 250 special on the third and the fourth, so I had to cancel,” Seacrest said. “It wasn’t a waste! I was actually really excited. I was kind of torn.”
