Sharon Osbourne, who has faced her own health struggles, selflessly prioritized the care of her beloved husband Ozzy over her own needs.
The Black Sabbath legend passed away in July at the age of 76 after battling Parkinson’s disease and severe spinal injuries, leaving their family concerned for Sharon.
Ozzy’s death came just days after he performed for the last time in front of thousands of fans in his hometown of Birmingham, a retirement wish that Sharon made possible.
The X Factor star had spent years renovating their Buckinghamshire mansion to ensure Ozzy could spend his twilight years in England.
Despite Ozzy’s deteriorating health, Sharon facilitated the significant move from Los Angeles. Now, she finds herself alone in their English home, mourning her husband while separated by miles from her children.
“When you say ‘cancer’, everybody always thinks ‘death’. And you’ve got to remember it was 23 years ago.”
Ozzy revealed his deepest fears to Classic Rock magazine, confessing: “I thought she was going to die.
“I never knew anybody that had survived cancer. As far as I was concerned, patient plus cancer equals death. But my wife is a very strong woman.”
Sharon has also been candid about her weight journey and her ongoing battle to achieve a “healthy balance”. In 2023, Sharon confessed she appeared “too gaunt” after finding it difficult to put on pounds following her decision to stop taking weight-loss medications.
“I’m at the point of losing too much that I have to try and maintain,” she revealed to E!. “In my life, the heaviest I was 230 lbs. and I’m now under a hundred. And I want to maintain at about 105 because I’m too skinny. But I’m trying to have a healthy balance.”
Sharon has acknowledged battling food addiction and struggling with an eating disorder throughout her “entire life”. “We all have our own little addictions that we do not in moderation but too much, and mine is food,” she previously shared with ET.
“I mean, I am a food addict.”
The X Factor judge subsequently opened up to E!: “It’s a mental thing. Sometimes, I would eat to punish myself and then I wouldn’t eat to show that I had control of my life. I tried exercising, but I’m too lazy for that.”
Sharon dropped three stone in four months using weight-loss injections, sparking Ozzy’s worry. “He doesn’t like it,” she admitted on Good Morning Britain.
“And he’s scared that something is going to happen to me. He says, ‘You’ve got skinny then something else is going to happen.’ He’s always thinking about the downside – that it’s too good to be true.”
Yet, it is Sharon’s children who are now concerned about her well-being.
During a segment on Good Morning America, Jack was questioned about how his mother, Sharon, who was married to Ozzy for more than 40 years, is managing.
“You know, when people have been asking me that question, I say, ‘She’s OK, but she’s not OK’,” Jack confessed.
When asked if she could “feel the affection and appreciation” from supporters, Jack responded, “Oh my god, yeah. I know she feels the love.”
He continued: “Every child sits there and kind of has this thought about one day that parents won’t be there, and what will that be like. It’s just a part of being human. We just didn’t think of it. It was a different weight to it, you know?”.
An insider previously revealed to us: “Sharon’s world has been torn apart. They had a clear plan of what they wanted to do and how they would spend their time together, but she didn’t get to do any of it with Ozzy. It’s so sad.”
