Shia LaBeouf remembers that, while acting in high-profile movies at a young age, his dad hit on his female costars. A lot.
In fact, Jeffrey Craig LaBeouf “was kicked off so many sets,” after allegedly upsetting actresses including Sigourney Weaver and Lucy Liu.
“He hit on Sigourney Weaver one time,” LaBeouf said Saturday at the 2026 Fanboy Expo in Knoxville, Tenn., per PEOPLE, claiming “she slapped him on Holes, on the Holes set.”

In the 2003 adaptation of Louis Sachar’s book of the same name, LaBeouf, who was then still a teenager, portrayed main character Stanley, as Weaver played the warden at the correctional boot camp where he had been sent after being wrongfully convicted of a crime.
LaBeouf noted that his father had also paid unwelcome attention to Liu, one of the stars of another of the actor’s 2003 movies, Charlie’s Angels: Full Throttle. Alongside Drew Barrymore and Cameron Diaz, Liu played one of the titular angels.
“My dad was fresh out of prison,” the Transformers star said of making the sequel to 2000’s Charlie’s Angels, in which Liu had also starred. “So we were on this set, and here’s all these pretty girls walking around. Bad news.”
LaBeouf claimed that Liu “couldn’t stand” his dad, because he was “always whistling at her.” He alleged that Liu “would always do these big circles around my trailer.”
“But he wasn’t going nowhere, he’s my dad,” LaBeouf said. “So we were just hanging out all the time.”

The elder LaBeouf, a Vietnam veteran who’s worked as a professional clown, was convicted of attempted rape in 1981 and was imprisoned until 1983, according to the U.S. Sun.
While he and his actor son had a strained relationship much of the time, Shia moved to New Orleans in December in part to “spend more time with his dad,” a source told PEOPLE in February.
The younger LaBeouf was closer to his mom, Shayna Saide, who split from his dad when he was 3. She died of heart failure in 2022.
