Director Siddharth Anand entered the discussion by acknowledging a fan’s tweet that highlighted the repetitive nature of such criticism toward Bollywood. The post, which Anand responded to with laughing emojis and an “okay” hand emoji, stated: “Funny logic by haters these days. If Bollywood movie has: Fighter jet – copy of Top Gun, Ship – Copy of Titanic, Same dress code – Copy of F1, Orage Dress – Anti Hindu, Their IQ level is like — buffering since 1947.”

Meanwhile, Khan addressed his character in ‘King’ during a special fan event organised for his birthday. He explained that he strives to introduce new and diverse roles for audiences, rather than repeating familiar tropes. Khan said, “I just feel, if we do not do something interesting in the film, then the hero will just appear in a few shots, sing two songs, fight, and leave. The character in ‘King’ is very interesting. Siddharth and Sujoy have written it with a lot of love. The character has many flaws.”
Khan also touched on the darker aspects of his role in the film. He shared, “He is a killer, he kills people and even asks, ‘how many were there, have you ever asked?’. I think it is important for storytelling, not just because youngsters watch films now. I believe it is necessary for heroes like me to play different roles. Some inspiring, some aspiring, some comic, some romantic.”
