Last weekend, SoFi Stadium hosted the FIFA World Cup quarterfinals—welcoming Spain supports, Belgium fans, and more than a few familiar faces to Los Angeles for the match. And among the celebrities who showed up to celebrate (Tate McRae, Brad Pitt, Ines de Ramon, Penélope Cruz, and more), Simone Ashley and Laufey were two in particular who gave us little doses of game-day style inspo.
Proving a statement tee is always a good idea, Ashley showed up to the game in an oversize white T-shirt with red letters printed with “it’s coming home”—a chant often heard by English soccer (or rather, football) fans. The Bridgerton actor tucked her the graphic T-shirt into a pair of slouchy light-wash blue jeans, and accessorized with black sunglasses, a gold necklace, and matching hoop earrings. She left her long hair down.
Joining her in the suite, Laufey took a similarly laid-back approach to her World Cup look. The Icelandic singer-songwriter turned to Barcelona-based brand Paloma Wool (so on theme!) for her fit, wearing a white cotton T-shirt with criss-cross detailing and little stud fastenings on the side seam. The fitted piece was hemmed just above the wide waistband of her brown linen shorts, which added a crinkled, textured feel to the ensemble. Her Oliver Peoples x Khaite finished things off, providing some shade to the beating sun as Spain beat Belgium in a 2-1 showdown.
The FIFA World Cup will wrap up on Sunday, July 19, with Spain facing off against Argentina at New Jersey’s Metlife Stadium.
