Sinclair doesn’t know best for Columbus
Now that the ABC network has decided to reinstate broadcast of Jimmy Kimmel’s show, Sinclair, the owner of our local ABC affiliate, WSYX ABC6, has indicated that it will preempt that show.
Instead, Sinclair will broadcast expanded news coverage. That is on top of about seven hours of news it already broadcasts on week days,
Apparently Sinclair believes that Columbus viewers lack the sophistication to enjoy Kimmel’s show or do not know how to switch off the television. I am not sure how much more news Sinclair thinks we need.

Perhaps Sinclair should consider showing reruns of “Father Knows Best,” “The Adventurs of Ozzie and Harriet,” “The Donna Reed Show” and “Hazel.” That would take us back to the “the good old days” when the television audience did not have to think about sophisticated programming.
That would be right up to Sinclair’s standards.
