So many artists, so many songs, so little time. Each week we review a handful of new albums (of all genres), round up even more new music that we’d call “indie,” and talk about what metal is coming out. We post music news, track premieres, and more all day. We update a playlist weekly of some of our current favorite tracks. Here’s a daily roundup with a bunch of interesting, newly released songs in one place.

HOLY FUCK – “ELEVATE”

Holy Fuck describe “Elevate” as “a euphoric and psychedelic dream drenched in technicolour.” It’s the second single from the Canadian band’s new album Event Beat.

CHARLOTTE CORNFIELD – “LIVING WITH IT” FT. FEIST

Charlotte Cornfield’s sixth album, Hurts Like Hell, is out next month, and her new single “Living With It” features Feist. “I had secretly dreamed of having her sing on the record and mentioned it to [producer] Phil Weinrobe, who she is also friends with,” Cornfield says. “When Phil reached out and she said yes, I sent her a couple of songs, hoping she would gravitate towards this one. She did, and she added her Feist magic to it, which is undeniable.”

SORRY – “BILLY ELLIOT” & “ALONE IN COLOGNE”

Sorry, who released the excellent COSPLAY last year, are back with two brand new tracks. have shared just ahead of their UK tour.

LALA LALA – “ARROW”

“It’s such a basic spiritual thing,” Lala Lala says of “Arrow,” the latest single off her new album Does This Go Faster?, which samples La Femme. “Resistance is the root of all suffering, and I did not know that. I thought that I could dictate the course of my life.”

THE LINDA LINDAS – “CALIFORNIA SUN” (RAMONES/HENRY GLOVER COVER)

The Linda Lindas have released a cover of the Ramones’ cover of the Henry Glover-penned ’60s hit “California Sun,” and it’s a very fun rendition of this eternal song.

MARIA BC – “NIGHT & DAY”

Maria BC’s new album Marathon is out later this month, and they’ve shared another single, “Night & day.” “I imagined this as a kind of lonesome cowboy song, an ode to the night,” they say. “When his workday is over and the sun’s gone down, he can be with the one he loves, and speak freely, feel deeply. This time is so precious to him, he often gets carried away and clings to it desperately. Then the morning brings shame, stupor, new longing. One of my favorite moments of the album comes toward the end of this song, when Cole’s saxophone comes in with a falling pitch.”

TIGERS JAW – “PRIMARY COLORS”

Tigers Jaw’s anticipated new album Lost On You is approaching and here’s another instantly-satisfying taste of it.

MX LONELY – “ANESTHETIC”

Mx Lonely’s debut album ALL MONSTERS is out on February 20, and th ey’ve given us another preview with “Anesthetic.” “Anesthetic (noun) is defined as any substance that induces insensitivity to pain,” vocalist and keyboard player Rae Haas says. “Anesthetic is a love song to the addict. An ode to and feeling highs and lows rather than searching for something to numb the pain.”

SHABAKA – “EYES LOWERED”

Jazz great Shabaka recently revealed that he raps on record for the first time on his upcoming album Of the Earth, and today we get to hear that song.

ECCA VANDAL – “BLEACH”

“‘BLEACH’ is the moment you shed the version of yourself moulded by fear,” Ecca Vandal says of her new single. “It’s brutal, honest, messy, and necessary — letting the old stuff go to make room for something new.”

BITTER BRANCHES – “PITY PARTY”

Philly post-hardcore supergroup Bitter Branches (Deadguy, Lifetime, etc) have shared another caustic taste of their upcoming sophomore LP Let’s Give the Land Back to the Animals.

GIA MARGARET – “EVERYONE AROUND ME DANCING”

Gia Margaret announced her first vocal album since 2018, and shared the lead single, which you can read more about here.

DROPKICK MURPHYS & HAYWIRE – “CITIZEN ICE”

After recently teasing it, Dropkick Murphys and Haywire have released their collaborative song “Citizen I.C.E.” (a reworking of DKM’s 2005 song “Citizen C.I.A.”) off their upcoming tour-only vinyl split. Read more here.

WITCH POST – “WORRY ANGEL”

Witch Post, the duo of Alaska Reid and Dylan Fraser, announced their third EP and first for Partisan. Read more about new single “Worry Angel” here.

SELLA (THE FRONT BOTTOMS) – “PERFECT WORTH IT”

The Front Bottoms vocalist/guitarist Brian Sella has announced his debut solo album, Well I Mean, which is coming out under the name Sella on March 13 via The Front Bottoms’ former label home Bar/None. Read more about lead single “Perfect Worth It” here.

MIZERY – “THE WEAPON PT. II”

San Diego hardcore band Mizery have announced their first EP in 10 years, recorded with drum tracks that their late drummer Cayle Sain laid down before his untimely passing. Read more about lead single “The Weapon Pt. II” here.

MCLUSKY – “I KNOW COMPUTER”

It’s the first single from Mclusky’s new mini-LP.

BRUCE HORNSBY – “INDIGO PARK”

This is the title track from Bruce Hornsby’s new album that features contributions from the late Bob Weir, Grateful Dead lyricist Robert Hunter, Ezra Koenig, Blake Mills, Pino Palladino, Bonnie Raitt, and Chris Dave.
