‘Spider-Man’ spinoffs to take place soon?
Spider-Man, which is one of the most iconic movies and franchises of all times, might be getting a spinoff soon.
The chairman and CEO of Sony Pictures Entertainment Motion Picture Group, Tom Rothman, recently confessed that there will definitely be a spinoff for the famous movie in the forthcoming years.
While talking to the host, Matt Belloni on The Town podcast, when asked if the larger Spider-Verse is dead?
Tom replied, “No” and continued, “Scarcity has value … you got to make the audience miss you.”
Although, the work is not set to release anytime soon, there is a possibility that it can be later announced suddenly to surprise the fans.
When questioned again, this time about the upcoming project and if it would be a fresh reboot with a new cast or not, the answer was positive.
Also recalling the previous project’s accomplishments, he admitted that the film, Spider-Man: No Way Home, getting banned from China really “pissed” him off because he knew the movie could do great.
“Well, it didn’t get into China, but in my mind [the film’s box office is] over 2 [billion] because I know what we would have done in China.”
It is to be noted that the particular movie earned $1.9 billion at the global box office even though it was banned from China.
