St. James’s West Hartford Hosting Community Music Events

This October, St. James’s Episcopal Church, located at 1018 Farmington Avenue, West Hartford, will host VOCES8 as well as the annual PipeScreams Halloween organ concert.

St. James‘s Episcopal Church in in West Hartford will presents VOCES8 on Saturday, Oct. 11, 2o25, from 7-8. p.m.

Known as one the world’s most visible ensembles, this internationally acclaimed British octet is revered for their impeccable blend and genre-spanning versatility, from Renaissance polyphony to contemporary choral masterpieces. Join us for an unforgettable evening as we host their only Connecticut performance in the American leg of their world tour this year.

The event will be held at St. James‘s Episcopal Church, West Hartford (1018 Farmington Ave West Hartford), and tickets are $40-$55. More information can be found on the website.

St. James‘s Episcopal Church will also host the 34th annual PipeScreams! on Friday, Oct. 24, from 6-8:15 p.m.

This wild, family-friendly Halloween organ concert features live organ music from local musicians of all ages, playing everything from Bach to Radiohead to Star Wars, combined with zany theatrical bits and special effects, in a fully-decorated sanctuary. The program begins with festive treats and ghost stories told around an outside bonfire followed by an hour-long concert that includes all sorts of audience participation and not-too-spooky fun for attendees of all ages. Costumes are strongly encouraged!

The event is free and will be held at St. James‘s Episcopal Church, West Hartford (1018 Farmington Ave West Hartford). More information can be found on the website.
