Stanley Tucci stars in a new TJ Maxx campaign that flips the script on his Devil Wears Prada character
See the actor in an exclusive behind-the-scenes video for the retailer
Tucci’s costar Meryl Streep recently praised his elegant style
Gird your loins! Stanley Tucci is the new face of TJ Maxx.
It might seem like an unlikely pairing, but that’s the entire point. The actor is teaming up with the retailer for a new campaign that playfully spoofs his Devil Wears Prada character, Nigel.
In the film’s highly anticipated sequel, which hit theaters on May 1, Tucci delivers the instantly memorable line, “Look what the TJ Maxx dragged in,” when Andy Sachs (played by Anne Hathaway) returns to Runway magazine.
The behind-the-scenes video of the ad sees Tucci admiring finds from TJ Maxx while on set with the retailer (he even attempts to steal one item from a clothing rack). At the end, the actor asks a crew member to guess how much his plaid jacket costs, and with each guess, replies, “Lower.”
The campaign lets fans in on the surprising and stylish collaboration, leaning into Tucci’s off-screen reality as a Maxxinista.

“At TJ Maxx, we are all about high-quality finds and on-trend styles at exceptional value, making runway-worthy style attainable for any budget,” the brand said in a press release. “When we heard Stanley Tucci deliver the line, ‘Look what TJ Maxx dragged in,’ we saw a can’t-miss opportunity to flip the script and affirm the fashion creds Maxxinistas know and love us for — all with the help of Stanley himself.”
Tucci’s Devil Wears Prada costar Meryl Streep recently praised his elegant style.
The Oscar winner lauded the actor as he and his sister-in-law Emily Blunt were honored with a rare double star ceremony at the Hollywood Walk of Fame in Los Angeles on Thursday, April 30.
Streep, 76, who starred with Tucci, 65, in 2006’s The Devil Wears Prada and its 2026 sequel, as well as Julie & Julia, took the stage to honor her longtime friend, reflecting on his unique screen presence and career.

“Stanley has an elegance to his heterosexuality, his undeniable heterosexuality, which is formidable,” she said. “Not that heterosexuality is better than any other kind of sexuality, it’s just that elegance, real, unforced, natural, unstyled elegance.”
She added with a laugh, “It is sometimes harder for straight men.”
